Hey guys! I'm going to tell you what happened when we decorated the class. In case you are wondering, I'm the class secretary, so I'm in charge of class decoration(even though I have no artistic talent of sorts) and to put it simply, the job is horrible. There's lots of organising, directing and stuff that makes your brain exhausted. Anyway, I decided to decorate the class on last Friday since Friday is my only free day in my hectic schedule. But the real mistake I made, was that I forgot to tell everyone about it, and that was a really serious blunder. Only when the day itself arrived, did I suddenly remember. I rushed to the front of the class in the morning and yelled for silence before asking them:'' Who's free today?''
Everyone looked at me, shaking their heads , saying they have CCA and other stuff on. Just my luck that my only free day was the day where there were the most CCAs on in the afternoon. In the end, there were only 5 people who could take time off to help out with the decorations. All I could do was groan and accept it resignedly. After all, it was my fault. But on the bright side, at least 5 people helping me were better than none at all! So the day went on, with me trusting that those 5 people would turn up to help. Then in the afternoon, as we gathered in the class to decorate it, I looked around and asked,''Where's Bryan?'' just as my phone vibrated violently. I frowned, and looked at the message before breaking out into a yell of rage. '' Sorry. Not free. Bye bye.'' the words stared back at me. I looked around and gritted my teeth, suppressing my rage. We could still do this! And so we started work. We cut extraordinary amounts of tape, and put up dozens of decorations in the form of red packets, and tried our best to create an awesome decoration, one befitting of the title, ''best decorated class of 2011''. At least, we tried to. Our main worker, Shinichi, said that he had to go for his CCA. I struggled for words but in the end could only watch helplessly as Shinichi shrugged and walk out of the room. Then, two out of the three workers said they wanted to have their lunch. Grinning, they walked out of the room , laughing at my predicament. Finally, about 15 minutes later, the last worker said he had to go as he wanted to eat McDonalds now. I bitterly complained and pleaded for him to stay but he said he didn't care and walked out of the room just like the others. I was now alone. Without help. Without friends. How sad I felt! I had been abandoned, left to do the job alone. I continued doing the job alone for a while, before giving up and heaving a sigh of frustration. '' I DON'T CARE I'M LEAVING!'' I yelled to the walls of the classroom. Grabbing my bag, I stormed off in a huff. If the teacher blamed me, I would say that there was a lack of manpower.
And so now, on this Monday, we finally did the decorations together as a class(after me complaining) and although I think it won't win any prizes, at least, we did it together, as one. I learnt quite a lot from this experience. The main thing that I learnt is to remember to tell everyone when to meet and discuss which day is suitable for all of us. Another thing is that doing a job alone is definitely worse than doing it together as a team with the whole class helping you. So, here's an early happy Chinese New Year to all of you readers! Bye!
